Job Description
Strategic
Assist Lead Environment in fulfillment of legal requirements and voluntary standards in the plant
Operational & Financial
Ensure efficiency output performance from the operations of Effluent treatment Plant
Operation and maintenance of ETP/STP/RO
Ensuring proper operation of ETP/ STP /RO/ Clarifiers / Parallel Plate Separators
Working in close coordination with other team members towards best results from ETP /STP/RO operation
Supervise the jobs related all equipment and monitor their performance for optimum and safe operations
Communication with superiors and carry out field actions accordingly
Maintaining proper housekeeping in the area of ETP/STP/RO
Trouble shooting and increasing the performance of Waste treatment equipment
Implementation of management systems related to EHS in the function
Hazardous Waste management and handling
Compliance to procedures and Work Instructions
Day to day monitoring of odor related issues
Audit, Identification and compliances of legal requirements
Technical solutions for odor minimization
Finding Non compliances towards Environmental management within the company
Coordinating towards the external interface of Environment Management including applications, statement, Environmental audits etc.
Liaising at local levels
Providing trainings on environmental awareness and preparedness
Implement initiatives taken for improvement in Environment Management Systems, cost and people improvements
Maintaining expenses related to environmental expenses regarding legal requirements as per the approved budget
Implement the cost saving initiatives in the Environmental functions
People
Ensure smooth working of the shift to achieve high productivity and safety level
Encourage supervisors/operators to participate in suggestion scheme
Smooth coordination and close working with team to maintain high Morale of the Workforce
Execute training related to environmental subjects and skill up gradation
Guide the plant personnel to trouble shoot the odor problems faced due to fugitive emissions or otherwise
Required Candidate profile
Educational Qualification : BE Chemical or MSc-Environment /B.Sc (Chemistry) + PDIETM
Previous Experience 3-8 years in Environment, Health and Safety department
Industry to be hired from Chemical process based industry like Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals. Fine / specialty chemicals
Functional Competencies Sound knowledge in Operations, trouble shooting of waste disposal processes and Pollution Control Equipment
Sound knowledge of various national legislations in the field of Environment
Knowledge ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
Good analytical skill and system approach to analyze the problems
Basic knowledge of operations of rotary and static equipment
Supervise the jobs related to all equipment and monitor & ensure their performance for optimum and safe operation Root blower startup, shut down, changeover
Skills to do minor maintenance
Basics of SAP
MS office Word / Excel and power point, presentation preparation
Work Permit procedures
Good reflexes during Emergency
Use of Firefighting/ Safety equipment
Behavioral and Leadership Competencies Good inter-personal skill for co-ordination and communication with various interfaces of operation.
Good writing skill for technical and legal reports.
Ability to plan the jobs and supervise the job
Ability to handle Environmental issues within the plants
Good decision making skills
Ability to work under pressure and adjust priorities in a fast changing environment
He should be able to assess the risks and carry out job safety analysis
He should have good understanding, grasping & learning abilities
Fulfil conditions of work permits for various jobs in his capacity and maintain records of permits
He should be able to exercise overall supervision and ensure the housekeeping to at expected standard.
