with back ground of Agrochemical large scale unit. Having worked on
environmental and safety aspects of such industry along with biological
treatment/ MEE and incinerator operation.
Also should have knowledge of FI and GPCB norms.

Function/Dept.: Operations/ EHS
Incumbent Name:
Role Purpose: Plan, organize and manage all Safety, Health, Environment and emergency response operations including management of budget, personnel, supplies, equipment, structures and compliance/enforcement of regulations, policies and procedures.
Reporting To: Site In-charge/VP-Operations
Location: Bhavnagar
Education: BSc, M.Sc Chem / Chem Engg and PG or Dip. in EHS
Experience (in years): 15 -20 years
Responsibilities:
EHS Strategy Plan:
• Implement Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timelines, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long term strategy.
• Implement and review site specific OHS and Environmental Objective & Targets.
Manage EHS:
• Development of new safety procedures and review and revision of existing procedures to ensure compliance.
• To ensure EMS operates at optimum level effectively.
• To assess risks and hazards and make effective recommendations for action and correction.
• To carry out detailed technical, safety, hazard and environmental research including accident analysis and prevention techniques.
• Coordinate and consult with the various plant heads regarding health and safety issues in their respective areas and take appropriate actions.
• Insure preparation of Safety Manuals, training outlines and employee instructions for work deemed to have recognized hazards.
• To ensure fire and safety appliances /equipments are in healthy and periodical inspection testing, calibration as per OEM guideline / IS / international standard practices.
• Planning and execution of safety mock drills, Fire Drills and training programs.
• Prepare the documents on emergency situation/mass causalities, assess and classify the emergency situation for future preparation.
• To ensure compliance of PPEs across the site.
• Employees and workers are being made aware about associated hazard and Precautions w.r.t activities.
• Comply Statutory and non statutory compliance
• Maintain and update onsite emergency plan.
• Investigate the causes of dangerous occurrences reportable under the Rule
• Arrange and conduct safety committee meetings.
• Conduct internal and third party external safety audit and ensures compliance to recommendations.
• Update the MSDS for all products, raw materials at Site.
• Aware / experience of operation of Biological effluent treatment , MEE and incineration.
• Monitoring and ensure compliance of water and air pollution control norms.
• Monitoring and compliance of haz waste disposal as per govt norms.
Liasioning with Government and agencies:
• Plan and manage co-ordination with regulatory agencies to maintain all necessary environmental and safety regulatory licenses and permits, to include timely renewals and payments.
People management:
• Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc).
• Plan safety and ISO standards training to various target groups at the site.
• Interact with site personnel to assure technical information is accurately reported to national and state agencies.
